Police Chief Brandon Leschke presented the department's monthly report, saying the department received 288 calls for service in the reporting period, issued 46 traffic citations, 14 written traffic warnings and six municipal ordinance citations.
Leschke said rifles have been ordered and noted staff anniversaries: Sergeant Strobusch marked three years and Officer Wagner marked one year. He said letters were sent to two non-compliant properties and that a Flock camera will be temporarily installed on North Mill Street by John Reindl's lot, with plans to move it closer to the railroad tracks in the summer. Leschke said Eric Feil is researching treatment-plant test results and that the department will schedule staff areas of responsibility for spring and summer.
The report was delivered as part of the Police, Fire & Ambulance Committee update; no formal council action on public safety items was recorded during the meeting.
