The Weyauwega Common Council on Monday approved a series of routine purchases and personnel actions, adopted a salary ordinance and cleared multiple business licenses.
Council member Chris Gunderson moved to approve the meeting agenda and minutes; both motions carried with four ayes and zero nays. The council approved two Public Works capital expenditures — hydrant piping at the wastewater treatment plant and a lawn mower — on motions by Austin Baehnman. The council also approved a $685 quote from Master Electrical Services to install a light on the City Hall flag pole.
In finance actions, the council approved Clerk Rebecca Loehrke's attendance at the Wisconsin Election Commission Clerk Conference and authorized an RFP for auditing and non-auditing services. The council approved checks dated Jan. 1 through Jan. 31, 2025, totaling $373,561.30 and accepted the monthly financial statements; a roll call recorded ayes from Berg, Gorchals, Gunderson and Baehnman and no nays.
The council voted to promote Patrick McClone from part-time to full-time School Resource Officer effective Feb. 24, 2025, and set the mayor's salary at $500 per month, meetings included, effective the new term in April. Council approved Ordinance 2025-1 to amend Chapter 95-11 (Salaries) to reflect the clarified payment schedule and mayoral salary.
Council also approved an operator license for Wendy McMullen (T's Corner Bar), appointed Lauren Wisner to the Recreation Committee, and granted a Class A beer and Class A liquor retailer's license along with a Cigarette, Tobacco and Electronic Vaping Device Retailer's License for Dolgencorp, LLC dba Dollar General at 108 E Ann Street.
