White Lake board raises sewer rates 3%, approves CDs and renews ambulance agreement

The sewer-rate motion, moved by Trustee Frank Skarlupka and seconded by Trustee Patsy Listle, passed unanimously. Trustees also approved a financial-management motion (moved by President Tom Edelman, seconded by Listle) to convert operating balances into short-term certificates of deposit: two $10,000 CDs from the General Fund, two $30,000 CDs from the Water Fund, and two $100,000 CDs from the Sewer Fund.
Why it matters: the rate increase and the transfers into CDs affect the village’s utility revenue and liquidity. Officials said the measures are part of routine financial management and utility oversight; the board did not estimate the per-household dollar impact at the meeting.
Trustees additionally voted to approve the annual intergovernmental agreement for ambulance services with the City of Antigo for calendar year 2025 in the amount of $11,586. The ambulance agreement was moved by Listle, seconded by Skarlupka, and approved unanimously.

Clerk-Treasurer Carol Blawat reported operational items that bear on implementation: the municipality installed its Workhorse financial/software system and began using it Feb. 1; auditors from Kerber Rose are scheduled to be on site on Feb. 12; and the public test of the election tabulator was completed ahead of the Feb. 18 election.
President Tom Edelman also offered a moment of local color during public comment, thanking organizers of the village fishing derby.
