White Lake approves Evergreen fire contract, buys ladder truck and shifts private fire protection fee costs

Trustees approved a fire protection contract covering Evergreen, White Lake and Wolf River fire departments by a motion from Patsy Listle and second from Frank Skarlupka; the vote was recorded as all ayes. The board also approved purchase of a 2005 Seagrave ladder fire truck for $45,000. The White Lake Fire Department will pay 50% from its fundraising account; the Village will pay the remaining 50% with the understanding the village’s portion will be repaid over time by applying part of the newly approved Evergreen contract payment ($7,000 annual) so that 25% of the village’s share will be returned to the village until $11,250 is repaid.
On utility billing, trustees approved moving forward with an allocation of the annual Private Fire Protection fee ($39,058.00) so 75% ($29,293.50) will be paid from the village general fund and 25% ($9,764.50) will be charged directly to village water customers based on meter size, beginning with the first-quarter 2025 billing cycle; the motion was made by Frank Skarlupka and seconded by Patsy Listle and carried unanimously.
Each motion was recorded as carried "All Ayes" in the clerk’s minutes; the minutes do not include roll-call individual vote breakdowns beyond that unanimous outcome.
