City Administrator Shaun Greenwood told the council during a public hearing that the amendment would pay for a garbage truck, a yard-debris truck, GPS software, a work-order tracking system, and some personnel costs, and would "back stock" grant funds that had not been disbursed by the federal government because of the recent shutdown. The public hearing, opened by City Attorney Will Dillard at 6:21 p.m., drew no comments and was closed at 6:24 p.m.
On second reading, Council member David Black moved to approve the ordinance amending the budget and the city's master fee schedule; Council member Stephen Oliver seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously to adopt it.
Finance Director Brittany Adams told the council the city has recognized 58% of its budget year to date, with 38% of expected revenue realized and 55% of expenses incurred.
