The Weyauwega Common Council voted April 15 to hire Bauman Associates, Ltd. for audit services beginning in 2025 and approved the city’s financial disbursements for March.
Joe Harrison, representing Bauman Associates, described the firm’s background and municipal experience. Council member Shani Appleby moved to hire Bauman Associates, Ltd.; Chris Gunderson seconded and the motion carried with five ayes and zero nays.
Separately, the council approved checks dated March 1–31, 2025, totaling $314,649.16 and accepted the monthly financial statements. The roll call recorded ayes from Meta Berg, Pat Gorchals, Chris Gunderson, Shani Appleby and Austin Baehnman and no nays. Appleby also moved to approve registration for the Municipal Clerks Institute Alumni Track for Clerk Rebecca Loehrke at a cost of $499; that motion carried with five ayes and zero nays.
Joe Harrison’s presentation said Bauman (Bauman Associates, Ltd.) audits roughly 25 municipalities and assists about 10 more with reporting. Council did not record contract terms or length in the minutes aside from the start year of 2025; staff are authorized to engage the firm for audit services.
