Forest Acres Planning Commission members elected Lyle Lee as chair and approved officer assignments and a 2026 meeting calendar during their Jan. 20 meeting in City Council Chambers.
The vote followed an earlier motion to elect Ellis Creel as chair that failed 2-3. A subsequent motion to elect Lee passed unanimously. Lee was first identified in the minutes as a member of the commission; after the vote he assumed the chair role. The commission then approved Marshall Minton as vice-chair and adopted the 2026 calendar, both by unanimous votes.
The process included several formal motions: Marshall Minton moved to approve the previous meeting minutes earlier in the evening; that motion and others were recorded as unanimous. The minutes record one ambiguous motion text regarding a secretary designation; the wording in the minutes was unclear on that point and is stated as recorded. The meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
The commission will carry these officer roles into its work for 2026 and will bring agenda items forward under the new leadership at future meetings.
