Weyauwega council approves WWTP remote control and UV upgrades

Council member Pat Gorchals moved to approve the HMI update and Chris Gunderson seconded; the council voted to fund the work from the Wastewater Maintenance budget and the motion carried with five ayes and zero nays.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved a separate UV upgrade at the WWTP at a cost of $1,025.22. Both items were presented as routine public works maintenance to improve on-site control and reliability.
The approvals authorize staff to proceed with purchasing and installation under the specified budget lines; the council did not identify a contractor in the meeting minutes and did not schedule further public hearings on the items. The upgrades are intended to reduce staff travel time to the plant’s control room and to maintain disinfection functions at the treatment facility.
