District reports Title funding approvals, testing schedule and recommends CTE textbook adoptions

The presenter outlined testing dates and requirements: CogAT testing for second graders will begin Oct. 14; the PSAT for eighth graders is scheduled for Oct. 23; ASVAB and WIN testing for seniors who did not meet career‑readiness standards will be Nov. 11; winter formative assessments will begin Dec. 10; fall EOCs this semester will include English II and biology, with other EOCs and final exam schedules to follow in the spring and on Dec. 19–20 for certain classes.
The presenter said several CTE textbook adoptions were being recommended to the board for accounting 1 and 2, personal finance/marketing and sports medicine courses, naming National Geographic Learning and Cengage as publishers the district uses; the adoptions were described as proactive so the district can order books quickly if courses are offered again.
Board members approved the recommended CTE textbook adoptions by voice vote.
The academic presenter closed by noting the district's report cards will be released in October and that the district will review results to see where improvements are needed.
