Wind Lake board approves diesel tanks and storage shed after new harvester arrives

For the larger diesel harvester, Bluemel estimated it would cost roughly $3,300 to purchase two 110‑gallon tanks plus pumps, batteries, chargers and related equipment to allow efficient refueling.
Treasurer Todd Flunker moved to approve the purchase of the two diesel tanks and associated equipment; Commissioner Pat Calliari seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 6-0.
The board also debated replacing a donated storage trailer with a movable storage shed on the district lot to house harvesting equipment and supplies. Commissioner Pat Calliari volunteered to investigate shed options and oversee procurement. Secretary Jeremy Sauld moved to authorize spending up to $12,000 for a new storage shed; Commissioner Jim Bluemel seconded. That motion passed 6-0.
The decisions are intended to support the district's harvesting operations and reduce logistical constraints during the season; the board did not identify specific funding sources beyond the district's operating accounts.
