The Winneconne Community School District Board of Education voted Dec. 16 to approve three new high-school course proposals: Sculpture I–III; Soups, Sauces and Sandwiches; and Baking & Pastry Arts.
A board member said the new courses will replace older classes with low enrollment and that splitting an existing foods class into two classes will better serve student interest. The board moved (by Verich) and seconded (by Stelzner) the proposal and approved it by roll call.
Board members discussed scheduling and indicated the new classes may rotate within the master schedule. The board approved the proposal as presented.
What’s next: the courses will be added to the high-school curriculum per district scheduling and staffing processes.
