Frankford school dedicates multipurpose room to longtime teacher Doug Post; staff and community awards presented

The Frankford School multipurpose room was dedicated to longtime teacher Doug Post at the Nov. 25 board meeting. Ned Storch introduced the dedication with a detailed tribute describing Post’s 41‑year teaching career, his presence at school events, and the ways he supported students and colleagues.
Storch recounted that Post taught multiple grades across a long career, was active at concerts, athletic events and enrichment programs, and remained engaged with students and families even after his retirement in 2020. The board announced the space would be named the Doug Post Multipurpose Room.
The meeting also presented recognitions: Nikki D'Souza was named staff member of the month for her work with paraprofessional schedules and special‑education supports; Jen Vance received a new community‑member award honoring PTA leadership; Dan Dwyer was recognized for custodial service; and student Tucker Howe was named a 'Frankford Hero.' Danielle Asker, student council president, read a student council report listing a K–2 family event on Dec. 9, collection boxes for donations, and plans for a 7–8 grade dance near the end of February or early March.
Speakers emphasized community involvement and volunteer contributions; the ceremony and recognitions were part of the meeting’s opening agenda.
