An adviser for the Future Business Leaders of America club told the Wrightstown Community School District board that the group is one of the largest extracurriculars at the high school and highlighted both community-service work and competitive success.
“This year our club locally has 107 members, which is 26% of the high school population,” the FBLA adviser said, noting the club runs eyeglass and flag-collection drives and an annual senior-citizen Christmas party that has averaged about 250 attendees. She said 85 members participated at regionals, 59 placed in the top five and 39 advanced to state in Green Bay.
Four freshmen who advanced to state — Brianna Corey, Anna Van Zeeland, Malia Enderby and Charlie Balker — described their events. "We did a presentation on trends we found based off air quality in New York after the 2023 Canadian wildfires," one student said, and added the team developed “long and short term solutions” intended to help individuals and communities respond to similar events.
The board applauded students and coaches for both the academic and civic components of the club’s work. The adviser noted the district has a long history of participants advancing to national competitions and encouraged the board and community to celebrate the students’ accomplishments.
The presentation was informational; no board action was required.
