Lacey parks department reports 10,000 program registrations and nearly $1.9 million in 2025 revenue

Parks staff presented the 2025 annual report to the Lacey City Council on July 7, highlighting participation, revenue, maintenance and partnerships.
Staff said the department ran about 1,046 programs with just over 10,000 people enrolled, hosted 32 special events drawing nearly 75,000 attendees, and brought in just under $1.9 million in revenue through rentals, sponsorships and grants. Partnerships with Northwestern Public Schools and North Thurston Public Schools support field use; the regional athletic complex reported more than 12,000 hours of community field use.
Jamie, parks maintenance supervisor, outlined operations: roughly 22 full-time employees and seasonal hires to cover peak demand, about 55,000 labor hours across the department, maintenance of roughly 1,400 acres and 21 miles of trails, and pruning of 412 street trees last year. Jamie also said staff removed 55 street trees for a roundabout project and reported playground audits, synthetic field replacement work, graffiti cleanup and campground/encampment cleanups by a rapid-response team.
Council members praised the department’s work and celebrated Parks and Recreation Month; staff thanked volunteers, sponsors and partners.
