Wrightstown board approves staffing list, admin contracts and summer grounds agreements

The Wrightstown Community School District board on April 16 approved a slate of personnel and operational items, including certified-staff hires, the high school principal contract list and summer grounds maintenance agreements.
Superintendent Ron Starry asked the board to approve the list of administrative contracts for 2026–27 while reserving specific language changes for later. He said some contracts already contain negotiated salaries and others remain “to be negotiated.” The board discussed which contracts were final and which would require future salary direction; Starry said administration and the board have held closed-session salary discussions and will return with recommended amounts.
The board then voted to approve the list of administrative contracts as presented. A voice vote carried the motion after a second; no roll-call tallies were given in the public record.
On staffing, administration reported recent resignations and new hires, including the incoming high school principal Eric Ward, who was introduced to the board. The personnel slate presented for approval included certified hires for 4K, 2nd grade and the principal position; trustees approved the staffing update by motion and voice vote.
Trustees also approved continued use of three retired community members on individual summer lawn-mowing agreements for building and grounds maintenance. Administration described the arrangement as historical and cost-effective: the retirees start when grass growth requires tending and help the district’s grounds crew through the summer months.
Board members asked for future clarity on contract language, negotiation timelines and how any pending raises would be handled. Superintendent Starry said contracts with set salaries would not receive additional increases and that the district would work with the board to finalize outstanding language.
The matter concluded with the board’s motion to approve the presented lists, which carried by voice vote. The board asked administration to return with contract language clarifications and any negotiated salary recommendations at a later meeting.
