Chair Fred Koeller called the Village of Waterford Public Works Committee to order at 4:00 p.m. on May 19, 2026 at Village Hall. The committee approved a series of routine agenda items, including a street closure for a community flea market, support for a library grant application, park facility improvements and the committee's CMAR report.
The committee voted to approve minutes of the March 17, 2026 meeting after a motion by Committee member Cindy Mooney and a second by Committee member Carl Oberhart; the motion carried with all committee members present voting in favor. Committee members present were Fred Koeller (Chair), Carl Oberhart, Cindy Mooney and Mike Olson; Pat Goldammer was excused.
On individual items, Committee member Cindy Mooney moved and Carl Oberhart seconded approval of a street closure for the Waterford Area Flea Market & Rummage Sale; the motion carried. Chair Koeller moved, with Oberhart seconding, that the committee support the Waterford Public Library in pursuing grant funding for a United Way Born Learning Trail and that the library return to committee with proposed plans; that motion also carried.
Mooney moved and Mike Olson seconded a motion to proceed with construction of a concrete deck around the flag pole area; the committee recorded the motion as carried. Chair Koeller moved and Olson seconded a directive for park staff to explore rental areas in Ten Club Park for private events; the committee carried that motion and directed staff to report back with options.
A proposal to reschedule Public Works meetings to the first Tuesday of the month was discussed and subsequently tabled; no formal motion to change the schedule was recorded in the minutes. The committee then moved to approve and recommend the Village Board approve the CMAR report after a motion by Mooney (transcript spelled the mover name as "Mooey," corrected here to Cindy Mooney) and a second by Oberhart; the motion carried.
Mike Olson moved to adjourn at 5:24 p.m.; Koeller seconded and the meeting ended. Minutes were filed by Alysa Robbins, Admin Clerk.
Next steps: the library is to return with proposed plans for the Born Learning Trail and park staff are to report back on potential rental areas in Ten Club Park.
