The Williams Bay School District board approved two personnel hires, authorized a district delegate for the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) convention and set a closed session to finalize the superintendent's evaluation.
During personnel business, Dr. White presented the hires. The board approved the hire of Kevin Peichman as a grounds/maintenance employee with the condition that "he has to pass his physical" because the position requires lifting up to 70 pounds, Dr. White said. A separate motion approved Lexi Vesniewski as the middle- and high-school cheerleading coach.
A board member moved both personnel actions, each was seconded and approved by voice vote. The votes were recorded as voice approvals; no roll-call tallies were read into the transcript.
The board also moved and approved a motion to give Jack Lothian "the power and discretion to vote as he deems appropriate on any and all motions brought forward at the WASB convention in January," the motion text stated. That motion passed by voice vote.
Finally, the board scheduled a closed session for Jan. 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. to "finalize the superintendent evaluation," a motion that was likewise seconded and approved by voice vote. The transcript records the date and start time but does not list additional procedural details or participants for the closed session.
Next steps: handbook and other agenda items will return to the board for formal action in January; personnel hires are contingent as noted (Peichman pending a successful physical).
