BPAC accepts longtime member's resignation; staff to seek replacement process

Darin Pryor informed the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee that Dennis Noel resigned after many years of service because he could not give the committee the time he believes it deserves. Chairman Ken Kwantes accepted Noel's resignation and asked staff to determine Noel's start date so the committee can recognize his service.
Pryor said staff are discussing an amendment to the municipal code to change the language from "a committee of 8 members" to "a committee of up to 8 members" to make it easier to reach quorum and accommodate vacancies. Tina Balch said potential candidates should be contacted and their information forwarded to the mayor, who makes appointments.
No formal appointment was made at the meeting; members discussed outreach and next steps for candidate referrals.
