Sumner council pays tribute to late councilmember Greg Reinke; memorial scheduled July 18

Chris Lumsden opened the meeting’s invocation referencing an empty chair and asked the community to pray for Reinke’s family. Several councilmembers described Reinke’s long service — including decades as a firefighter and service on council and regional boards — and recalled personal memories from parades and community events. City Administrator Jason Wilson said staff felt Reinke’s loss and announced a public memorial scheduled for Saturday, July 18 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Church; Wilson said the service is open to the public.
The mayor closed the council reports by inviting members to attend the memorial and noting the council will continue work in Reinke’s spirit.
