At its Jan. 22 meeting Green Township’s committee approved a slate of routine administrative and fiscal actions. Highlights below summarize committee votes and next steps:
- Ordinance introductions: The committee introduced Ordinance 2025-01 (to exceed municipal budget cap limits and establish a cap bank) and Ordinance 2025-02 (salary ranges). Both were set for public hearing on Feb. 3, 2025.
- Licenses and permits: Two raffle licenses were approved for the Green Township PTA’s April 5, 2025 event at Green Hills School; a Blue Light permit was authorized for Daniel Gorczynski to respond to Green Township Volunteer Fire Department emergency calls.
- Appointments: The committee appointed the 2025 Emergency Management Council (Chair/Coordinator Chris Lopanik, deputies, fire and first-aid representation and municipal officials) and named new members to the Environmental Committee (terms and alternates recorded). The committee also appointed Nick Pachnos as IT Consultant for 2025 with a $1,000 stipend.
- Finance and administration: The committee approved the Developers Escrow Trust disbursement (12/12/2024–01/15/2025) and the general bills list (12/13/2024–01/16/2025). A small road-opening escrow refund ($168.00) was authorized to Elizabethtown Gas / Edward & Victoria Proskey.
- Shared services and grants: The committee authorized a shared-services agreement with the Sussex County MUA for Certified Recycling Professional services (cost not to exceed $300) and approved submission of a Local Recreation Improvement Grant application to the NJ Department of Community Affairs (not to exceed $100,000) to expand the asphalt walking trail at EverGreen Park.
- Personnel and records: The committee approved minutes from Jan. 6, 2025 (with DeYoung abstaining) and approved a settlement agreement and release related to termination of former employee Sheri Janoski (A-002465-23). The minutes do not disclose settlement terms.
Most routine items passed on roll-call votes recorded in the minutes; several were recorded as unanimous approvals. The clerk will file adopted resolutions and forward required documents to the Division of Local Government Services where statutory procedures require it.
