Green Township Committee says Trinca Airport warehouse concept still "too large" after scale-down
Summary
Committee members told staff that a developer’s reduced concept plan for the former Trinca Airport — cut from 400,000 sq ft to 316,000 sq ft — remains too large; the committee asked the developer what smaller building sizes it would consider and flagged concerns about loading bays and one-way access on Creek and Fieldview Roads.

Green Township Committee members on Jan. 22 told township staff they still consider a developer’s concept design for the former Trinca Airport property to be too large, even after the company reduced the proposed building from 400,000 square feet to 316,000 square feet.
Committee members raised traffic- and site-layout concerns, including loading bays oriented toward Creek Road and Fieldview Road and a one-way ingress-and-egress configuration that the committee said could create circulation and safety problems. The committee asked the township clerk to convey those concerns to the land developer and to ask what the smallest building footprint the developer would accept in negotiations.
Mayor Virginia "Ginnie" Raffay and committee members emphasized the need for more detail on ingress/egress and bay orientation before the township will support a large warehouse on the site. The minutes record no formal vote on a land-use application at the Jan. 22 meeting; the discussion was a conceptual review and the township clerk was directed to communicate the committee’s concerns to the developer.
The discussion follows ongoing attention to the former Trinca Airport property and comes at a time when committee members are reviewing the township’s Master Plan and land-use policies. A revised Master Plan draft is anticipated from the Land Use Board, which has a public hearing scheduled for Feb. 13, 2025.
