Board approves multiple final readings and routine contracts in final meeting of 2025

At its final meeting of 2025 the Branson Board of Aldermen approved a package of ordinances and contract actions that were on the agenda for final readings or consent. Items approved included the consent agenda (minutes, contract reports and several final-reading bills), an amendment to the Advisory Park Board code (bill 66-31), multiple right-of-way and easement measures (66-32 and 66-33), a lease for a communications site (66-34), release and termination of temporary easements for Branson Manor LP (66-35), and an addendum with UMB Bank NA for custody services (66-36). Where a roll-call was requested, final-reading votes recorded were 5–0.

Cindy Shook (S13) summarized the park-board code change that removes a fixed monthly-meeting requirement and authorizes meetings "as needed" to allow flexibility when quorums are inconsistent; staff said the parks advisory board voted unanimously in support. Ted Martin (S2) presented a communications lease with an annual payment cited at $3,836 and a 3% annual increase built into the contract. Kendall Powell (S12) described the requested termination of two temporary easements granted in 1977 for the Branson Manor Apartments; staff recommended release because the easements are no longer needed.

The board also adopted a resolution dedicating recently acquired properties as public buildings (a police station and Fire Station No. 4). Several items were handled as double reads to clear timing before year-end. All final-reading roll-call tallies announced in the meeting were reported as unanimous (5–0) where recorded.
