Green Township Board elects Marie Bilik president and Ann Marie Cooke vice president

The Green Township Board of Education unanimously elected Marie Bilik as board president and Ann Marie Cooke as vice president during its Jan. 5 reorganization meeting.
Business Administrator and Board Secretary Karen Constantino opened nominations and administered the oath of office to newly elected members Amy Jones, Kristin Blodnik-Post and Kristin Korpos before ballots were collected and read aloud. Mrs. Ann Marie Cooke nominated Mrs. Marie Bilik for president; there were no further nominations. All board members voted for Bilik. Mrs. Maureen McGuire nominated Mrs. Cooke for vice president; that nomination likewise received unanimous support.
The board approved motions to appoint Mrs. Cooke as delegate to the New Jersey School Boards Association and as delegate to the Newton Board of Education (motion made by Kristin Post; second by Dr. Melissa Vela). Several other delegate and chairperson slots on the agenda were left blank and were scheduled for discussion later in the meeting.
Board members also discussed draft committee assignments for the coming year; the minutes note the draft but record no final, roll-call approval of individual committee rosters in the public portion of the meeting. The board set its next meeting for Jan. 21, 2026.
