Board affirms HIB finding, directs written decision and appeal information to parents
Summary

After returning from executive session on Nov. 19, the Green Township Board of Education affirmed the board’s prior finding of harassment, intimidation or bullying (HIB) in a confidential appeal and voted to provide parents with a formal written decision and guidance on their right to appeal to the Commissioner of Education.
The motion to affirm the HIB finding was made by Board President Mrs. Marie Bilik and seconded by Mrs. Heather Ellersick. The minutes record that all board members present voted in favor of the motion.
The board directed the Board Secretary to prepare and deliver the written decision and to provide parents information about the statutory right to appeal the decision to the Commissioner of Education. The HIB appeal and related records remain confidential as required by law and will be made public only as permitted under applicable rules.
