At its June 11 meeting, the Green Township Board of Education approved a set of finance motions that moved surplus funds into reserve accounts and authorized a series of contracts and purchases.
Finance Chair Kristin Post presented motions to add up to $650,000 to the Capital Reserve Account, up to $350,000 to the Maintenance Reserve Account and up to $350,000 to the Tuition Reserve Account; the motions state those funds are sourced from anticipated surplus realized at the conclusion of the 2024–25 fiscal year. The board approved these transfers by roll call.
The board also approved several procurement contracts and bids on cooperative purchasing vehicles: technology purchases included a Samsung 75" Business Pro TV ($829.89) and related mounts, 60 Dell Chromebooks with Google Chrome Education upgrades and rugged NutKase cases plus charging carts (total $28,700.07), and 10 Lenovo Thinkbook 16 G6 units (total $10,500). Contracts for related services and equipment were approved through ESCNJ/AEPA and state cooperative contracts noted on the agenda.
On student services, the board approved an out-of-district placement for a student (ID ending in #7592) at the Windsor School in Passaic County. The tuition contract for the extended-year and 10-month program (210 days) is $99,750 ($14,250 for ESY and $85,500 for the regular school year), with transportation required; the contract commences July 7, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
Other finance items approved included the General Fund bills list for May 22–June 11, 2025 ($1,315,980.03), Chapter 192/193 nonpublic service agreements and hourly rates for IDEA-related services, Applied Behavioral Consulting at $130 per hour for behavioral consultative services, and student accident insurance through Bollinger Specialty Group for $1,976 for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026.
The motions were advanced by Finance Chair Kristin Post (motion) and seconded as noted on the agenda; roll-call votes on the finance bundle were recorded on the meeting record as carried.
