The Silver Spring Township Zoning Hearing Board granted an extension for the special exception previously awarded to Stonehill Estates, LLC, for a dog kennel expansion.
Eric and Jessica Beamesderfer, owners of Stonehill Estates, appeared on Sept. 8, 2025, to request additional time under Section 703.K.1 of the Silver Spring Township Zoning Ordinance to obtain permitting related to the special exception (Docket No. 2023-5). The board’s minutes recount the original application was submitted June 5, 2023, the special exception and related variance were granted at a hearing on Aug. 14, 2023, and memorialized in a written decision dated Sept. 17, 2023.
After hearing evidence and testimony in support of the extension, Vice-Chairman Richard Maffett moved to approve the application for an extension; Board Member James Hall seconded the motion, and the board approved it unanimously. The extension request applied only to the underlying special exception and not to other approvals or variances associated with the original docket.
No public comment was received. The minutes do not specify the new expiration date or any additional conditions tied to the extension; those details were not recorded in the board’s summary of the action.
