Open Space Advisory Committee names Louis Caruso chairman, sets 2025 meeting calendar

At its Jan. 8 reorganizational meeting, the Township of Green Open Space Advisory Committee appointed Louis Caruso as chairman and Stephen Slota as vice chair, approved a full slate of 2025 meeting dates and administered oaths of office to reappointed members.
Louis Caruso was named chairman of the Township of Green Open Space Advisory Committee at the committee's reorganizational meeting on Jan. 8, 2025. Margaret “Peg” Phillips nominated Caruso; John Lynch seconded the nomination and the motion carried with all members present voting in favor.
The committee also appointed Stephen Slota as vice chairperson after a motion from Phillips and a second from Lynch, which likewise passed unanimously. Per Township of Green Resolution 2025-19, Caruso and Phillips completed the Oath of Office at the meeting.
The committee approved its 2025 regular meeting schedule, listing meetings on Feb. 5; Mar. 5; Apr. 2; May 7; June 4; Oct. 1; Nov. 5; Dec. 3; and Jan. 7, 2026, with all meetings to begin at 7:00 p.m. Phillips moved to approve the calendar and Steve Slota seconded; there was no discussion and the motion carried.
Other procedural business included a motion by John Lynch to excuse absent members Richard Conklin, Gladys Golder and William “Bob” Olivier; the motion was seconded by Steve Slota and approved without discussion. The committee adjourned at 7:48 p.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
