The engineer said the project is scheduled to begin Aug. 22 and that the road will be closed for about a week during paving; each municipality will perform shoulder work on its own side. He said he will monitor the contractor’s test roll to ensure appropriate removal of subgrade only where necessary and to confirm pavement mixes conform to village ordinances. Commissioners asked about weight limits and shouldering; the engineer said municipalities will perform shouldering work but that it will not be to DOT shoulder standards.
