Board approves 2025–26 budget submission, preschool aid worksheet and routine financial reports

The Hainesport Township Board of Education on March 18 approved Resolutions to submit the proposed 2025–26 district budget and the Preschool Expansion Aid budget worksheet and accepted routine financial reports for January and February 2025. Business Administrator and Board Secretary Christopher C. DeSanto certified the monthly reports and stated that, “as of January 31, 2025, no budgetary line item account has encumbrances and expenditures which, in total, exceed the amount appropriated by the District Board of Education,” and that, to the board’s knowledge, sufficient funds should be available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.
The board also approved the appropriation adjustment journal, payment of bills, EFT activity, student activity account and cafeteria reports as presented. The board voted to authorize maximum travel expenses for the 2025–26 school year and approve board secretary and treasurer reports for the two-month period. Roll calls recorded the motions as carried.
Use-of-facilities requests for the remainder of the 2024–25 school year were approved contingent on proof of insurance and area availability; items included Grade 4 & 5 Drama Club rehearsals and Spring Picture Day. The board recorded district safety drills: a fire drill on Feb. 7 and a shelter‑in‑place on Feb. 13.
The board’s approvals follow normal annual deadlines for budget submission: the Business Administrator was authorized to submit the proposed budget and supporting documents to the Executive County Superintendent and to file required preschool aid worksheets with the state DOE.
