The Rolfe City Council adopted Ordinance No. 248 on April 28, 2025, amending Section 110 of the City Code related to the city’s natural gas utility.
The action followed a public hearing at which the record showed several people present and no written objections. Mayor Jim Pentico opened and closed the hearing without objections. Council member Dan Allen moved, with Aaron Cox seconding, to introduce the ordinance and place it on first reading; the roll call recorded Al Minkler, Dan Allen, Rob Jackson, Aaron Cox and Lana Pratt voting aye.
Council member Lana Pratt then moved, seconded by Dan Allen, to dispense with the rule requiring an ordinance be read at three separate meetings; the motion passed on a roll call vote with the same five members voting aye. Aaron Cox moved, with Lana Pratt seconding, to place the ordinance on its third and final reading and to adopt Ordinance No. 248 as read. The roll call again showed Al Minkler, Aaron Cox, Dan Allen, Rob Jackson and Lana Pratt voting aye and the ordinance was adopted.
The minutes record no written objections and no public comments opposing the ordinance. The ordinance was adopted by the council as recorded; the minutes do not specify an effective date.
