The Township Council on March 10 adopted three ordinances on second reading that update affordable-housing fee provisions and criminal-history background-check procedures.
Ordinances 26-009 and 26-010 amend Part III (Land Use) of the township code to replace existing sections governing affordable-housing development fees and affordable-housing provisions. After reading the titles, the council opened and closed the public hearings and adopted both ordinances; Councilmember Richard Tighe asked whether the affordable-housing ordinance relied on court approval and Assistant Township Attorney Jennifer Eugene confirmed the change was time-sensitive and needed to be completed by the end of the week to satisfy deadlines.
The council also adopted Ordinance 26-011, which amends Chapter 24 related to criminal-history background checks and associated costs. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearings and the ordinances passed by recorded vote of those present.
The adopted ordinance texts will be published on the township website and codified in the township code once administrative processing is complete.
