Logansport City board approves landscaping, paving and concrete contracts

The Logansport City Board of Public Works and Safety on Thursday approved a set of public‑works contracts covering tree replacement, parking‑lot paving, concrete installation and road paving.

Mayor Jacob Palmasol moved to accept the agreement with Spring Creek Landscaping to replace 18 boulevard trees; staff listed the contract at $11,700 and said the work will be paid from the city's infrastructure fund. "Contracts for $11,700, and that money is allocated through the infrastructure fund," a staff member said during the presentation.

The board also approved a Central Paving agreement for parking‑lot paving — part of the streetscape/RDC project — after staff reported Central Paving's bid at $60,002.55 and said funding would come from the GEO Bond Fund. A separate contract for concrete work from MR Louthan for the same project area was also approved; staff identified Louthan's bid (reported elsewhere in the record as $16,700) as part of related construction in the area.

Jan, presenting the Central Paving proposal for Eberts Road, said the work covers Eberts Road from the maintenance building through the loop and includes an additional parking lot. She said the project is funded from the GEO fund and noted the county declined to take the work, so the city is moving forward. "This is coming out of the geofund," Jan said during her remarks.

All motions to accept the agreements were moved and seconded and passed on roll‑call votes.
