On funding and grants, the superintendent said he applied for a $51,000 REAP grant and expected awards to be announced after July 1. He also announced that Principal Jen Semaglade had secured a $2,300 focus grant to fund K—3 literacy screeners.
The superintendent reported regional collaboration efforts: local leaders convened for Wallkill Valley regionalization feasibility discussions and the Rowan Group has been retained to conduct the study, with a first-draft report expected in July. He also mentioned staff participation in Department of Education training and recognition of district students who placed in regional STEM competitions.
