The Village of Albion Planning Board on Sept. 12 voted to create a Comprehensive Plan Committee and approved an outreach plan to solicit applicants.
At a meeting called to order at 5:00 p.m., Chair Karen Conn presided while Planning Board Co-Chairs Michael Massaro and Samuel Robinson led motions to adopt the committee’s membership and to authorize publication of an application notice. The board accepted the June 13, 2024 minutes earlier in the meeting.
Under the motion the committee’s composition will include three village board members — drawn from any sitting board, including the Historic Preservation Commission, Planning Board, Zoning Board or Village Board of Trustees — and will list Planning Board-appointed co-chairs Michael Massaro and Samuel Robinson. The committee will also include the Code Enforcement Officer, assistance from the Genesee Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council, one village resident and one village business owner. The board set applications to be due Nov. 11, 2024 and cited the Village Code (§74 – Residency) in selecting membership criteria.
Planning Board Co-Chair Michael Massaro moved to adopt the committee membership; Co-Chair Samuel Robinson seconded. The board voted "all in favor," and the motion carried.
The board then approved placing the application notice in the Water Newsletter in October and on the village website; Deputy Clerk Jessy Holz will also email all village boards to solicit applicants. That motion was also moved by Massaro and seconded by Robinson and carried unanimously.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn at 5:28 p.m., moved by Jeff Holler and seconded by Janet Navarra. The deputy clerk filed the minutes, and the board set its next regular meeting for Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
The board did not record numerical roll-call tallies in the minutes; the motions are noted in the record as carried "all in favor."
