Board hears update on middle-school floor cracks; engineers to present next meeting

Dr. Jennifer Cenatiempo briefed the Green Township Board of Education on Oct. 30 that cracks had been identified in the middle school floor and that radar and camera inspections detected void space beneath the slab. She said the district’s architect and a structural engineer have reviewed the condition, the district has notified its insurance carrier and legal counsel, and that a public-safety announcement (PSA) presentation is planned for the next meeting.
The superintendent told the board the condition "does not require immediate structural remediation," according to the minutes, but that further inspections and vendor presentations will be scheduled. The minutes state the school will continue to coordinate with professional consultants and the district’s insurers; the board did not take immediate action on repairs at the Oct. 30 meeting.
The board then moved the meeting into a closed executive session to discuss pending or anticipated litigation and personnel matters and reconvened at 8:38 p.m.; the minutes state the board did not anticipate taking action while in closed session.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 19, 2025.
