Stetsonville to consider Wisconsin DOR Innovation Grant for wastewater regionalization; City of Medford explained benefits

Village officials received information Dec. 15 about a potential wastewater regionalization project and a state grant that could help cover project costs.
SEH consultant Brea emailed information about the Wisconsin DOR Innovation Grant Program and SEH’s fee to help prepare and submit an application. Joe Harris of the City of Medford explained how the grant program works and described potential benefits for both Stetsonville and Medford. The board did not take a final vote on the grant at the Dec. 15 meeting and scheduled the decision for the Jan. 12, 2026 meeting.
Clerk/Treasurer Tia Kancilia also reported that the board established a new savings account to track costs related to the regionalization project and authorized named signers for that account. The board’s action to create the account was presented as preparatory to a possible grant application and any future construction or contractual work.
No dollar amounts for SEH’s fee or for expected grant awards were included in the minutes; the board directed that the grant pursuit be placed on the January agenda for formal consideration and a vote.
