Woodland approves $383,966 in claims, hires maintenance worker and authorizes refunds

The Woodland Township Committee on Aug. 28 approved bills and claims totaling $383,966.14 and enacted several routine resolutions and event applications.
The bills and claims motion listed a breakdown of funds: Current Fund $372,400.59 and Payroll $11,565.55. Committeewoman Donna Mull moved to approve the submission of bills and claims and Committeeman Mark Herndon seconded; recorded votes show Herndon and Mull voting yes, Mayor DeGroff absent.
The committee also approved two event applications: the Scrub Pine Enduro scheduled for Nov. 10, 2024, and a Woodland Fire & EMS coin toss fundraiser set for Aug. 30–Sept. 2, 2024. Both applications were approved on motions by Mull, seconded by Herndon.
Under the consent agenda the committee approved Resolutions 2024-52 (authorizing the hiring of Maintenance Man #2), 2024-53 (authorizing the Tax Collector to refund overpayments), and 2024-54 (cancellation of taxes due to tax exemption). Those resolutions were passed as a group on a single motion; recorded votes show DeGroff absent, Herndon and Mull yes.
Clerk Brown noted July miscellaneous collections of $13,126.27, and the Tax Collector reported July collections of $12,944.60. The clerk also said the committee will review estimates for the White Horse Inn and that the next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2024.
