The Village of Albion Zoning Board of Appeals on July 18, 2024, approved two variances and voted to refer a third application to the County for further review.
Craig Tuohey, chair of the Village of Albion Zoning Board of Appeals, called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. After routine business, the board unanimously approved minutes from its June 13, 2024 meeting following a motion by Jeanette Riley, a zoning board member, seconded by Tony Wynn, a zoning board member.
The board opened and closed a public hearing for an area variance at 139 South Main Street (parcel 73.6-6-26). The hearing was opened at 4:04 p.m., closed at 4:08 p.m., and the board then approved the requested area variance on a motion by Tony Wynn, seconded by Jeanette Riley. The motion carried with all members voting in favor.
Shortly after, the board held a brief public hearing on a fence-height variance at 53 Meadowbrook Drive. The hearing opened at 4:09 p.m. and closed at 4:10 p.m.; the board approved the fence-height variance on a motion by Tony Wynn, seconded by Jeanette Riley.
The board also reviewed an application for 232 West Avenue. Jeanette Riley moved, and Tony Wynn seconded, a motion to refer the application to the County for review and to schedule a public hearing either July 30, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. or September 3, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.; the motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 4:18 p.m. on a motion by Tony Wynn, seconded by Jeanette Riley. The clerk recorded that the next board meeting, which will include a public hearing, is scheduled for September 3, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
