Police Chief Kyle LeBouef recommended the board hire a police communications officer and a police officer, and the board concurred at the May 13 meeting. The board approved hiring Chermane Hammond for the Police Communications Officer position (motion by Alderman Randall Reed, seconded by Alderman Chad Andrepont) and Lavon Wilson for the position of Police Officer (motion by Alderman Chad Andrepont, seconded by Alderwoman Germaine Simpson).
Chief LeBouef also announced personnel changes in the department: Officers Dustin Broussard and Chase Godeaux were promoted to the rank of police sergeant; Jailer Gavin Miller and Police Communications Officer Kim Fuselier resigned. The chief said the Eunice Police Department will participate in the statewide "Click It or Ticket" seat-belt enforcement campaign from May 19 through June 1, 2025.
