Ehlers presents sewer rate study and loan proposal as Stetsonville moves toward Medford regionalization

The consultants said the rate study is required to continue plans to regionalize the village’s wastewater treatment with the City of Medford and that Ehlers will coordinate operating-cost estimates with SEH, the engineering firm advising on the sewer-line project. Trustees did not vote on funding at the Feb. 9 meeting and held the item for further action at the March board meeting.
Ehlers’ presentation covered the firm’s analysis of rates and debt models and proposed including the Clean Water Fund loan in the total financing package for the regionalization. No firm dollar amounts or loan terms were adopted during the meeting; trustees directed staff and consultants to refine operating-cost estimates and to return with a formal financing recommendation at the March meeting.
The discussion clarified only that the rate study and loan proposal are prerequisites for moving forward with the sewer connection to Medford. The board did not adopt a financing plan at this session and no votes were recorded on the proposal.
Next step: the sewer rate study and loan proposal will be revisited at the Village of Stetsonville’s March board meeting for potential formal action and any required vote.
