Building Commission approves multiple state facility projects and maintenance packages totaling tens of millions

Department of Health Services: DHS requested authority to construct MMHI Forensic Hall remodel ($2,996,500 SEG REV) and courtyard improvements ($1,464,800 SEG REV), and to proceed with NWC Building 6 demolition and utility rerouting ($2,592,300 GFSB). The combined DHS package was approved after being moved by Senator Brad Pfaff and seconded by Senator Mary Felzkowski.
Department of Natural Resources: DNR presented two items. The commission approved a $420,000 increase for the Grantsburg Ranger Station replacement (revised total $4,947,400 CON SEGB) to accept bids. The commission also approved a larger ‘Various All Agency Projects’ package totaling $31,179,100 across multiple funding sources to address building and utility repairs, paving, road and trail improvements, sanitary sewer work and other site enhancements.
Department of Veterans Affairs and State Fair Park: DVA project requests totaling $4,949,400 (mixed SEG REV and federal funds) and a $672,000 SEG REV fire alarm replacement at State Fair Park were both approved.
All project requests were moved and seconded by commission members listed in the record (commonly Senator Brad Pfaff as mover for agency packages) and recorded as approved (full commission tallies generally 8-0-0). The actions authorize construction, budget adjustments within project lines, and releases of planning funds where specified.
