Resident praises board for quick fix to shared classroom partition

At the Nov. 14 meeting resident Melissa Castone (S16) used the public-comment period to thank the board, administrators and staff for addressing a classroom partition at the middle school.
Castone, who gave her address on the record, said she had requested help a month earlier and that board and staff action resulted in a permanent wall that improved the environment for two classrooms. "You, the board, were the vehicle of change," she said, adding that teachers have reported the difference to her and that the change will benefit many students.
The board president and administrators acknowledged the comment and referenced staff members who assisted; the board did not take further formal action during the meeting because the repair had already been completed.
Castone's remarks were offered during the meeting's public-comment period and the board invited community members to use established channels (administration principal or superintendent) for other concerns.
