Hammonton honors field hockey, volleyball teams and cross-country runner at board meeting

The Hammonton Board of Education opened its Jan. 16 meeting by recognizing fall athletic achievements. The girls field hockey team finished the season 18-3-1 and were Cal tournament American-division champions; the team collectively scored 104 goals and was described as the program's highest-scoring season since 2014.
Coach Kristen Silvesti read the roster and told players, "I just wanna let the girls know how incredibly proud I am of you," while the volleyball coach celebrated a school-record 22 wins and a conference championship. Coach Michelle Woloski and others honored cross-country runner Natalie Claus, who qualified for the Group 3 state championship and set multiple course records.
The superintendent and board members thanked coaches, players and families for their efforts and invited students to participate in photos and return for future honors.
