Principals highlight greenhouse project, dual-credit expansion and schedule review

Hamilton High School principal Mr. Matine (S5) described a renovated greenhouse space on the school's second floor that will be used by the environmental club, 'Up For Life' students and for fundraising activities. He also said the district has 10 new dual-credit courses approved through Stockton University and 10 more under audit; if approved, students would have up to 20 courses eligible for college credit next year.
Mr. Matine said the Esports club qualified for a tournament on Nov. 23 and will travel by bus; he also previewed district conversations about a new bell schedule and an activity period, noting teacher committees and upcoming stakeholder surveys.
Separately, S11 described curricular changes: technical design will be renamed STEM 1 and products/structural design will be STEM 2; the middle school will add study skills for ELL and math and replace a global cultural connections course with a hands-on class pending staffing.
Dr. Teague (S8) and ECEC staff (S9) highlighted NJSLA results—naming several third-grade students who achieved perfect scores—and noted American Education Week activities and a fall festival on Nov. 25. Administrators encouraged community participation in upcoming events and said after-school tutoring and new clubs are planned.
Board members and administrators said they will follow up with details on course approvals and the schedule survey; no formal vote was taken on these program items at the meeting.
