Hammonton students post top county rankings on state assessments, superintendent says

Superintendent Rangel told the Hammonton Board of Education on Jan. 16 that the district’s 11th-grade cohort posted the highest English language arts and math proficiency results in Atlantic County on the most recent state assessments. "They had the number 1 English language art scores in Atlantic County ... and they had the number 1 math scores in Atlantic County as well," Rangel said.
Rangel reviewed additional school- and grade-level comparisons, saying several buildings ranked among the top county performers in reading, writing and math for particular grades. He credited teachers, staff and family support for the results and said the findings will be part of district planning and upcoming discussions about school programs.
Board members thanked the superintendent and coaches during the meeting. Rangel said the district will continue analyzing assessment data and share more details with the board as part of the strategic planning process and budget development.
