The Village of Stetsonville on July 21 accepted maintenance bids for two cold-storage structures and approved a Fire/Veteran memorial sign. Trustee Al Riemer presented bids including a $3,033 estimate to enlarge an overhead door on the regular shop and a $38,625.40 bid for insulation, windows and door work on the cold-storage building. Trustee Will McCarron moved to accept the maintenance bids and Trustee Tyler Lemke seconded; Riemer did not cast a vote and the motion carried on a recorded "all ayes."
Separately, the board voted to install a Fire/Veteran memorial sign on the northwest corner of CTH A and STH 13. The motion was moved by Trustee Stephanie Bohn and seconded by Trustee Tyler Lemke; minutes state the fire department and American Legion will contribute funds to the project.
The minutes do not record which contractor’s bid was selected by name beyond the dollar amounts, nor do they list the source(s) of village funds that will cover the cold-storage repairs. The board expressed a preference for buying local materials when feasible.
