Resident Judy Crosby told the committee she will ask that the article be removed from the consent agenda and held for separate discussion at Town Meeting, arguing that transferring land into conservation is a significant policy decision and that a potentially buildable parcel should get fuller voter consideration. "If one of the parcels is potentially buildable, voters should have the opportunity for fuller discussion before taking action," Crosby said.
Chair Ira Miller acknowledged the concern and noted members of the Conservation Commission were present and would be prepared to respond at Monday's Town Meeting. The committee did not change its printed recommendation during this meeting but agreed the issue should be addressed in deliberations at Town Meeting.
No formal motion or vote on the article occurred during the Finance Committee session; the item was removed from the consent agenda for further attention at Town Meeting.
