Council amends agenda; approves consent items including $1.1M fire-truck contract with $1M grant and affordable-housing donation agreement

Council president announced an amendment to the posted agenda to retitle two resolutions: CA41-25-530 to authorize transfers in the 2025 municipal budget ($105,000) and CA43-25-532 to authorize execution of a donation agreement with K Group Hamilton Venture for an affordable housing project connected to the township’s fourth-round plan.

After the amendment passed on a motion and second, council previewed consent-agenda items CA1–CA45, which included reappointments to boards, shared-services agreements to deliver health services to neighboring towns and a resolution establishing a contract for a fire truck. Officials described the fire-truck purchase price as $1,100,000 and said the township had secured a $1,000,000 grant to offset the cost; with standard discounts and grant funding, council indicated a net local cost on the order of tens of thousands of dollars, and noted delivery would take roughly four years.

Council members also praised the expansion of partnerships—public, nonprofit and corporate—around the affordable-housing and shelter items on the agenda. One council member said the renderings show four new affordable units at the site tied to CA43 and described multiple partners, including a community development corporation, contributing to the project.

Votes recorded during the consent motions and related items indicate motions were moved and seconded and carried by roll call on the evening’s votes included on the consent calendar.
