Sharon COA director outlines winter operations, new bus delivery and staffing

Kaitlyn Thibeault, executive director of the Sharon Council on Aging, delivered the COA director's report at the board's Jan. 12 meeting, saying public works cleared overgrowth behind the center's garden beds to support spring planting and that a refreshed edition of the center newsletter, The View, was rolled out.
Thibeault said a new medical driver started Dec. 15 and has been “a fabulous addition to the team so far,” increasing the center's transportation capacity for medical trips. She also reported that a new COA bus arrived at the Department of Public Works on Dec. 30; the vehicle will be put into service after registration and license plates are received.
The director reviewed recent center attendance and program hours and highlighted upcoming programs for senior participants, without proposing changes to service levels or budgets at the meeting. No board action was taken on these operational updates.
