Random Lake staff report website updates, Beautification RFP research and public works repairs

At the Random Lake Village Board’s Feb. 2, 2026, meeting, Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Waala and DPW Director Peter Lederer delivered routine staff reports covering administrative and public works activities.
Waala said the Village Hall team is updating the website and researching materials for a Beautification request for proposals (RFP). She reported the office completed tax collection, closed out record requests, has been researching current savings accounts and attended training at Fox Valley Technical College. Upcoming tasks for the clerk’s office include processing the February tax settlement and additional website updates.
Lederer reported recent snow events and said public works staff have been performing equipment repairs, working with a new employee, and moving forward on an LED light conversion at the shop. He also said the department is conducting a utility audit, repairing a generator at Well 1, and addressing RBC bearing repairs. Staff sent letters to property owners about clearing sidewalks and hauled wood chips to the Orth Drive property.
Committee activity noted that Public Works will continue planning road projects, the Lake, Parks and Recreation committee meets the next day, and a joint Beautification/Lake, Parks and Recreation/Chamber meeting is scheduled for Feb. 10 to begin a CORP kickoff and a wayfinding initiative.
There were no public comments during the meeting. The board adjourned at 6:18 p.m.
